In a joint performance, Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak and Silk Sonic take the stage at The Forum in Inglewood. Dressed in all black, with his signature dreadlocks dangling down his back, Mars opened the show with “24K Magic”. Anticipation of the music event was high as VIP tickets for this performance had sold out within minutes of going on sale back in January.
The lineup for this evening’s show included Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak who have both been nominated for Grammys while Silk Sonic is a rising star who broke out on Spotify last year with his single “Toxic +” which has garnered more than 5 million streams worldwide.
Act One began with the musical trio of Mars, Paak and Silk Sonic performing a medley of hits including “24k Magic”, “Locked Out Of Heaven”, “Grenade” and “That’s What I Like”. The trio also performed the song in a guest appearance on the TV show Empire but their performance was much shorter than that of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak who danced around like they were on stage at a Michael Jackson concert.
The crowd went crazy when Bruno Mars came back out to perform “Marry The Night” which he has not performed since his world tour ended in 2016.
The second act of the show opened with Anderson .Paak, who is known for his soulful voice and slick dance moves, appearing on stage dressed in his trademark Converse sneakers and “Hi” hat. The crowd went wild as they danced to his song “Come Down” which was followed by a brief medley of songs including “Put Me Thru”, “The Waters” and “Miss Right”.
Bruno Mars closed out the show with a performance of his hit song “Uptown Funk!” He was dressed in all black with a white watch and chains around his ankles. His signature leather boots glistened onstage as he performed his dance moves and interacted with the audience.
Overall, this was a rare concert that brought together three artists who have all been nominated for Grammy awards. With his unique style, Bruno Mars was able to put on a show that had the crowd dancing in their seats. After this performance, it seems like there is no stopping Bruno Mars who recently won two Grammy’s for “24K Magic” and sold more than 2 million copies of it worldwide since its release last year.
