Current Technology vs Future Technology

From the manufacturer
Why Choose an Aspherical Lens System?
When using an ‘aspheric lens’, the light rays converge at a single focal point resulting in a more sharp, clear and distortion-free image.
For Best Results:
- Place the base of the microscope flush against a flat viewing surface
- Ensure the LED lighting is switched on
- Start focusing on the lowest magnification setting (60x)
- Once you have a clear view of your subject, increase the magnification to your desired level (you may need to slightly adjust the focus again slightly)
A note on using the MicroBrite Plus in the field: Due to high magnification, the focal distance of the MicroBrite Plus is very short (maximum of 2mm past the acrylic base). It is not possible to focus on subjects beyond this focal distance. Looking at larger, three-dimensional objects or objects that are not on a flat surface takes practice and a steady hand, especially since small movements are exaggerated with higher magnification. This is why we recommend viewing flatter objects on a flat surface, especially when first using this microscope.

This is one of the best purchases I have made for my kids. I got them as stocking stuffers and it was their favorite gift out of everything.. I also gave some to my teenage brothers as gifts. I really believed that they would be to cool for them and not like them, considering all they seem to want is electronics but they used them so much! We were all staring at random objects for hours. So much fun.

Purchased a four pack for my grandchildren thinking they would enjoy looking at anything up close and dirty. It does take some getting used to as far as moving left to see right but within moments if not seconds, you’ll have it down. Upon receiving them, I installed a battery in each and looked through each just to make sure they all worked the same. They truly do work however, there is a spot dead center of the glass on each of the four that makes the magnified image blurry. The outer parts are clear but the exact center is not regardless of focus adjustments. I’m keeping them but would I buy them again? No, not with that spot in the middle on each. I’d move on to something else if there was other options.Edit:Due to the expedient and unsolicited response of Carson, the manufacturer, providing assistance and willing to replace these, I have taken my rating up to five stars and have decided that YES, I would purchase these again because of it. All too often there is no service after the sale and Carson proves there are companies out there that truly support their customers and want them to be completely satisfied. That in itself deserves a couple stars and therefore I must give credit where credit is due. Don’t hesitate in buying these as the price point is very good and if you do have issues, Carson will support you. As for the blurry image, I had the kids and their parents all look through them, 12 different people in total, and no one said anything about that. The only thing mentioned was how amazing they worked and how gross some things looked magnified, lol. I guess I’m wrong. Maybe it’s my old eyes and not the Carson MicroBrite afterall. My apologies to Carson.

This is an awesome little microscope! Great when used on a surface, a bit hard to hold and focus free-hand, but once I got the hang of it, it’s ideal for my use, and the light helps direct me to the exact spot I want to view. I was horrified when I examined a tiny biting “no-see-em” bug – it looked like something from a horror flick. No wonder it hurts when they bite! Huge domed, red eyes! I bought a pack of them for holiday gifts for my nerdy family members, and they loved them.

I’m all about getting the better value, which is why I decided to purchase the 4-pack, which is also why I’m currently broke. However, I would highly recommend these little gadgets for kiddos and adults alike! It takes a little bit of practice to maneuver and focus but once you get the hang of it you’ll be looking at everything under this microscope haha. Great for homeschool, outdoor adventures and totally giftable <3

I underestimated this product! It’s pretty impressive. Kids all loved it. Even I had fun look at thing under the microscope. You won’t be disappointed. Make sure to put the battery in for the light. You can’t really see anything without the light.

Like the lightweight, sturdy design. As a science teacher, really like being able to easily carry this around. And the kids have fun with it. It’s amazing what everyday items look like when magnified…food, fabric, skin. The light is very helpful. You can even see the individual pixels on your phone.

I bought 4 microscopes for grandkids ranging in age from 6 to 10. It was a big hit with all of them! They spent the day looking at patterns in rugs; investigating spots on their skin; looking at parts of plants. They even Took them to camp.
