Finding You A small-town brother’s best friend romance (Chikalu Falls) Hendrix, Lena: 9798748893879: : Books

I never thought I’d find her.

After eight years in the Marines, I’m still looking for the mysterious woman I’ve obsessed over since her first letter. When she shows up in my small town, I’m thrilled.

But when she turns out to be my brother’s best friend–and the girl he’s always loved–I’m caught between the two people who matter to me the most.

I’m a Marine, which means honor and duty run deep. Joanna is off-limits. That would be a whole lot easier if she hadn’t already agreed to help run my brother’s fishing guide business for the summer, forcing me to work side-by-side with the woman I’ve fantasized about for years.

I try to keep her at a distance, push her away, and man up. But she draws me in without even trying, and I can’t get enough of how she makes me feel. I’m stealing moments with her, and I know it’s wrong. She may not be my brother’s girlfriend, but I know a landmine when I see one.

FINDING YOU is a scorching hot, interconnected stand-alone small-town romance. It is NOT a love triangle. Finding You is the first book in the Chikalu Falls series set in the fictional Montana town, of Chikalu Falls.

“But you are my Joanna, aren’t you?’ he said, his voice gravely with desire, searching my face for some answer. My Joanna. In that moment, I knew.”Lincoln and Joanna , my lovesFinding You surprised me. I thought it was going to be pretty slow and harder to get into for me but a couple chapters in I did not find that to be the case at all. And I think it has everything to do with the characters Lena Hendrix thoroughly fleshed out.Lincoln is grumpy, protective, troubled, strong, and yet still maintains a vulnerable heart. He loves his family fiercely and values honor and honesty above all else.Joanna is strong, sassy, quick to love but never willing to compromise herself, and she always fights for what she wants even when its hard. This was, what I thought, a great starting point for the Chikalu Falls world and I am so excited to read the next two books! The set up for them was great in this book!

I can’t believe this is this author’s debut book!! I am so picky lately about my romances and this book had everything I love.I felt it was extremely well written and easy to follow. I have been having a really hard time lately getting into books and being so bored in the first chapters, but I was sucked into this one right away. I absolutely loved Jo. She was beautiful inside and out. She was funny and an incredible friend. I also loved how talented and capable she was being a guide. I loved Lincoln. He was your typical hot and brooding alpha male. He had many demons coming out of the military and of course this inhibited him from thinking he could make someone happy.Anyway…. I loved the whole history of the letters that Jo wrote and how Lincoln already had this intense connection with Jo for years before he ever met her. I was very impressed with the way this story played out. I don’t like too much push and pull, but in this book it was very well done. The tension was perfect IMO. The sex scenes were intense and emotional. You could definitely feel these two falling in love and I wanted them to be together so badly. The conflict was believable yet frustrating and also heartbreaking. But I loved the way Jo handled herself. The conclusion and ending were fantastic— I cried. I can’t wait to read the rest of these books and I’m so glad I found a new author!?

I really enjoyed reading Finding You(Chikalu Falls Book 1)!!! All about Lincoln Scott retired Marine Medic who served for eight tours in Afghanistan & Joanna a women in her late twenties who was a solo fishing & wildlife guide in Chikalu Falls, Montana. Lincoln & his baby brother Finn own a Fishing & Wild Camping guide business and with a few guides bring people out on tours sometimes just day trips other times on week long trips. Finn & Jo are very good friends and he wants her to come in as a partner, but her dream is to own her own resort guide business. But she does help him out occasionally!! Read about Lincoln & Joanna and see how they work together on several trips!!! This is a page turner from start to finish, and their is so many emotions running throughout, that you won’t know if you should laugh or cry!!! The characters literally grab you and wind you into the story, and you will fall in love with everybody in this town!!! I can not wait to read book two!!! Highly recommend this series to read!!!

Top notch military hero with problems to the max meets a gal not in touch with her own true sexy, female worthiness. Great chemistry and Lena dreamed up a swoon worthy guy that won my heart before he ever arrives back in the states. Great side characters that help make this story outstanding. One of the hottest shower scenes I’ve ever read. Five stars plus!

I loved everything about this book!Joanna is a rough and tough kind of girl that can hold her own. She loves the outdoors and being with nature. She starts to write her best friends brother matters while he’s away on tour, not thinking it’ll turn into anything more, but hoping!Lincoln is a marine that gets honorably discharged after an accident that left him unable to remain on duty. He has spent the last few years searching for a girl who has been writing him letters, not knowing she was right in his nose, his brothers best friend!!Being a marines wife I related to bother Jo and Lincoln in so many ways. I loved reading how Lincoln battled with his ptsd and how Joanna was his anchor in many ways.

An unexpected fun read… what happens when a Marine falls in love with the mysterious Joanna who has written letters sent from home to him over the many years he has served in Afghanistan? He only knows that she has captured his heart, his imagination and kept him sane. But who is she? A determined, recuperating, discharged Lincoln wants to know.Jo James is a fishing guide in a small town in Montana. The town she and her sister visited their grandparents every summer. Jo attended community college there, much to the disappointment of her parents, and the delight of her BFF, Finn who owns a fishing guide business with his older brother and Marine vet, Lincoln. Jo loves being outdoors, loves fishing, would love to be able to be taken seriously in a male-directed arena even though both Lincoln and Finn respect her abilities.Lincoln believes that “Jo” is his Joanna but thinks she and Finn are a couple. Joanna isn’t sure if Lincoln realizes that she has written to him and been in love with him all of these years because he never wrote her back.Ms Hendrix has written sympathetic characters. She handles Lincoln, suffering from PTSD and trying to be a respectful and honorable big brother towards Finn and Joanna while dealing with his growing feelings towards her. Joanna, is simply trying to understand the conflicting messages from Lincoln and wanting to succeed as a guide. Finn, is simply delightful as both younger sibling, best friend, klutz, and seeing the brightness in everything. Then there is Honey, Joanna’s sister and Birdie, the boys mother! Plus grumpy Mr Bailey who is spot on.Will there be a HEA? Will there be lots of bumps along the road? And fish to be caught upstream? A fun and enjoyable read with plenty of passion.

I am a sucker for an ex-military man/ pen palm romance so when I randomly found Finding You I was excited to read it and this book was so good.Lincoln has been a Marine for twenty years before he is honorably discharged after being injured in the line of duty. While he was serving, the one thing that kept him going was letters from a woman back home (who he didn’t know). The six years that Joanna wrote to him gave him peace in a time he never felt peace. Now he’s back home and trying to find her unsuccessfully. Imagine his surprise when he does finally meet her and discovers that she is his younger brothers best friend and the girl he THINKS his brother has feelings for. Will he be able to standby and watch her fall in love with someone else? Or will he do the dishonorable thing and make the one girl he wants his?Lincoln is all beautiful tattooed alpha soldier with a really gentle heart. He is struggling from his time in the military and his perceived deception relating to his brother. I loved him. I wouldn’t think he would be so romantic but he was while still being completely alpha and protective of Joanna.Joanna was amazing. She knew who she was and was proud of it…even if she struggled at times (like we all do). She was strong, smart and one of those girls who didn’t now how beautiful she was.To be honest, I thought this book was going to be some type of love triangle, which I HATE but the author quickly cleared up any thoughts of that which I appreciate greatly. This is a sweet, crazy steamy (like damn Lincoln!!) romance that starts with a letter to a soldier. I really really enjoyed it and will definitely be reading Honey’s book next.

What a great book!!I felt everything Lincoln went through and how Jo unknowingly saved him. It is such a great book especially with the military & ptsd theme. But the fact that Jo is not like your average heroine brings an unexpected layer to the story that I absolutely love!!Can’t wait to read the next book!!

  9. witchy_book_babe

This book was amazing!!! What a beautiful, spicy, love story with a fantastic storyline. Strong female characters, military background (that was so well written! My heart oh my god, whenever Lincoln’s Marine memories were discussed I was right there with him. Feeling the intense emotions, the tragedies, the brutality, and essentially the hardened mindset of someone who is serving/served.), and FINALLY a gay character who was not created in the same mold that SO many writers (film and books) limit the characters to!**Spoilers**I was so surprised and happy when the bomb was dropped that Lincoln’s brother was gay. As a reader I appreciated this so much; I never come across a small town love story (interconnected or stand alone) that has a gay character and I have been waiting for it! He was a great addition and I loved the friendship between him and Jo. And just his entire demeanor, I wanted to be his best friend lol!Jo and Lincoln had you rooting for both of them the entire way. Jo was a tall, tomboy, humble, fit woman. And I really related to her character. She struggled with her insecurity of not feeling feminine enough…yet she never changed herself or let that suffocate her. She just kept on being herself but yearned for acceptance one day. She was such a badass! Then Lincoln, his demons were really heart wrenching to read. So when the problems arised in the story, it made sense why he made the decisions he made. It was the cherry on top that he eventually took the time to find help in order to learn how to have a healthier relationship with Jo. This man was just so loveable; the amount of times he showed his love for Jo made me tear up. The gestures, the words, his loyalty to her…swoon worthy. Absolutely loved this book! And the bonus epilogue, yes yes yes! Nothing but a huge smile on my face and heart eyes after finishing.

Saw someone talking about this book on tiktok and knew I had to read it!This is the first book I’ve read from Hendrix. I loved that not only does she give the reader the naughty parts but she has an incredible storyline too!Lincoln is so broken and Joanna is a strong female lead. The two together are perfect!
