Such fun!!! I won’t lie, I had to return mine. VERY simple to put the bumpers on, shake it, and put in bird bath. My problem was, with the bumpers on, there wasn’t any room for the birds to get into the bath, and with the bumpers off, it got too close to the edges of the bath and shot the water out. I was going out every 1.5 – 2 hours and refilling. It was fun to watch, and the birds would drink out of it regardless of where it was in the bath. Oh, and the battery backup – that’s all built in, you don’t need to put a battery in. But what happens, when it’s in the shadows or nighttime, it ONLY runs sporadically. Wish I’d would have had a larger body of water to use it in!!!!!

The 1st one we bought is in a shallow birdbath with lots of sunshine. Since the birdbath is small, I use it without any of the nozzles and it is more like a bubbler. The top disc separated from the floating bottom part, I pressed them back together and it works as before but the top has become a cloudy white. It still works. The water in the birdbath is kept clean and clear and the fountain is washed every month or so to keep the pump clean. In the summer, the water gets quite warm but this does not seem to affect the pump. It may be why the two pieces came apart. We just bought another one and were pleasantly surprised to see it now has four plastic rods to keep it from moving too close to the edge of the water and causing the water to spill out. It was also significantly less expensive than our first one purchased years ago.

I have several of these fountains/ pumps around my yard- in bird baths, flower pots, the pool. When the sun shines on them, they shoot water up in different patterns. Very easy to use and pretty to watch

This definitely needs full sun or it is intermittent at best. When getting full sun it works well. It needs clean water and a good cleaning to keep from clogging, but that’s kind of expected as dirty as bird baths get. I found taking the float tubes off better for my birdbath because the center is slightly elevated. I understand they are there to keep it centered but I don’t care about that, I just wanted to keep the water from being stagnant and getting mosquitoes. For the cost I’m happy, if I had a place for the birdbath in full sunlight I’d be even happier, but I don’t and that’s ok.

The fountain pump works as described. Just remember when the sun is bright it will pump the water high but if the sun is not very intense the flow will be meager. If it is cloudy it will not pump at all. On a sunny day with a little wind blowing the all water will be blown out of a regular size birdbath. The pump works well but placement is important.

Very happy with this purchase (which, unfortunately, must be repeated after a night critter chewed off sparkler end and the capsized in order to feast on the wiring). Terrific feature is the inclusion of four side insert rods to keep fountain from getting too close to the wall or perimeter of container in which it has been placed (in our case, a birdbath). Very pleased with this item and vendor. Would recommend to others.

It’s like the energizer bunny, the moment the sun shines on it, it’s doing what it’s supposed to. For the money it adds a nice touch of gurgling fountain to the patio. I add a splash of vinegar to the water which keeps the algae down and I don’t have to change out the water as often. I don’t know if the birds would care about the vinegar, the area is too busy for birds to attempt to use it. I wipe it down with a rag every few days. For the money it’s worth it.

The sun has to shine on it for it to work but when it does works very well. The selection of nozzles are great. It does go high and if you don’t have a large basin to catch the water it does go out and you have to fill it up a lot but other than that very nice to hear and look at.

This thing works! As soon as I walked outside it began vibrating in my hand. On a sunny moment it will spray 15 inches into the air, on a cloudy day sporadically spurt water 3 or 4 inches. You do need to keep your bird bath full enough and be sure to clear any debris out of the intake or spout but it isn’t hard to clean. Only improvement could be a battery so it would run consistently.

As long as you have plenty sun shine this pumps work very well may be too well as the water might fall back our of the bird bath emptying this one very fast.Contrary to most pumps of this type, there is no adjustment on this pump.
