I have a foot stool in my carpeted living room. I put 2 pads on 2 of the four wide legs. I use the stool to reduce pressure on my back while sitting. The stool is easy to move forward or backward, adjusting to my comfort just by lifting the padded side and sliding the stool backward or forward.

I bought these for my bed since I have hardwood floors, and let me tell you how happy I am with them. I no longer have to chase my bad halfway across the room!!
