About this item Mermaid vibes for days! Aquamarine is one of our most pigmented blues with aquamarine/teal undertones. It’ll turn out most vividly on pre-lightened hair, but will still work to give a deep teal tint to darker shades of unbleached hair. #AFProTip: To cover a more brassy-toned blonde, try mixing Aquamarine with a little bit of Purple AF to get a perfect cobalt or a deep indigo! Arctic Fox hair dyes are gentle for frequent use and actually conditions your hair as it restores vibrancy. Results May Vary. Why?

Since everyone’s hair is different, it can be harder to predict how a color might turn out on unbleached hair, even if that hair is naturally in a blonde range. How unprocessed hair takes color can depend a lot on your hair’s natural porosity, but in general unbleached hair tends to be more dense and less absorbent.

Natural base colors may not take pigment as well and you will usually see color fade faster. If your hair is naturally blonde and you don’t want to try lightening at all, sticking with colors that are on the darker and more highly pigmented side will still work best to give you the most vibrant and visible results!

How Do I Apply Arctic Fox Hair Colors?

Because everyone’s hair is different, do the strand test and see color result before full application. We also recommend doing a patch test to confirm you’re not allergic.

(1) Shampoo and dry hair thoroughly. Do NOT use conditioner. (2) Use coconut oil (or petroleum jelly) around hairline and on ears to prevent staining (optional). (3) Wear protective gloves for application. Pour desired amount into bowl. (4) Apply color evenly with color brush. Begin at the root of the hair and work it evenly through to the ends. Start nape of the neck and work upwards through the head and be sure to completely saturate the hair shaft. (5) Use a plastic cap over the hair and leave color on for at least 1/2 hour or more. Arctic Fox hair color will NOT damage your hair and has added conditioner, so leaving it on for longer will not hurt a thing. (6) Rinse hair in tepid H2O, until the water runs clear. For the first rinse, do not rinse hair while showering!

Bleach Please

Want to Achieve the Perfect Hue?

Take your lightening game to the next level with Bleach, Please. It can lift hair up to 8 levels (results may vary) and includes 35 Volume developer, premium vegetable-based cream bleach, and latex-free gloves. Our special formulation containing Polycare Split Therapy helps prevent split ends, so we made sure to put that shizz in there!

I can’t believe I have been dying my hair with harsh chemicals and not using this stuff. I was not expecting this great of results. I had been dying my hair red and the permanent dye would fade so fast and look like crap so I bought this as a filler before my next dye session. No need, I will be using this stuff 100% of the time. It even covered my Grey’s. You can still tell they are there if you’re up close and personal but you’d have to really look. My damaged parts held better than the healthy parts of my hair but that’s with anything. I’ve washed my hair 3 times now and it’s still going strong. Love love love this stuff.

The color is vibrant and I love it. Even though the vibrant color only lasts a few washings, it doesn’t damage the hair at all, and in fact it conditions it. So I’ve used this over and over. At first I put it on top of my medium brown hair, and that looked nice. Then I got bleached highlights in my hair and put it on top of that, and it was quite vibrant. I don’t really want to bleach my hair again though, and I was happy with it on top of the medium brown. I was able to use 1/2 of the bottle for each coloring.

Updated for two years of using Arctic Fox! I exclusively used Arctic Fox on my bleached hair for that time (until it grew out) and these are hands-down the most amazing deposit colors I have ever found. For reference: I have also used Manic Panic, Pravana, and Joico in the past before switching to this.My attached picture shows the color at it’s boldest and brightest. In this picture I had only bleached my hair a handful of months prior and this was after maybe the third time I reapplied the color (note that I never reapplied my bleach after the first application). In the beginning of using this color I would have to refresh the Arctic Fox about once every month or so, but after about 8 months I could stretch the time in between to two months. When I got closer a year and a half, I barely ever had to reapply the color because my hair was pretty much “stained” purple (in a good way) at that point, so any fresh color stayed nice and long. When I applied the color, I would put it all over and cover it up with a shower cap. Then I would let it process for 6 hours before I washed it out. As time went on, I wouldn’t have to process as long. About a year in I would only do 4 hours and near the two year mark I would only do 2-3 hours. Please, please note that you DO NOT have to process this long, you only need to wait about a half hour to an hour. I personally liked processing for several hours because the first week or so after coloring my hair would be dark (almost black) and I thought it looked like raven feathers! Processing longer also helps the color last longer because the more that you deposit into your hair strand, the more that needs to come out overall. The color in the picture was taken two or three weeks after coloring to the dark, raven color and then washing my hair every other day in lukewarm water (I never used cold water when washing my hair). I also avoided scrubbing the ends of my hair and did my best to focus my shampoo at only the roots. You can’t tell from this picture, but even the roots of my hair turned purple. In sunlight it would be such a bright shade of purple that the tops of my hair almost looked like they had been bleached too!I like to say the color fades sideways instead of fading out completely because they sort of change colors as time passes instead of going back to the bleached blonde or white. The Purple Rain starts as the very violet-blue purple in the picture and eventually fades sideways into sort of a pinky purple (think Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy) for me. After the color changes instead of washing out further it just starts looking a bit dull and not as shiny as it does at first, that’s when you know it’s time for a touch-up. If you want to keep the color the same for longer you can always add some of the color to your normal conditioner, but I never did.I changed my color several times as well, but I always stayed within the rules of the color wheel and never tried a color that wasn’t mixed from or mixed into the next color; so I tried blues, pinks, and red from my purple. Every time I planned to do this I would wash my hair with hot water and scrub my ends with shampoo for about a week prior to changing the color to get as much of the old color out as I could. It worked every time and the pigment in these dyes are so amazing that the color came out perfect every time and not diluted by the old color!A final word on this color is that it barely gets on anything after you have shampooed a handful of times. Other brands I have used would stain my pillow cases, the skin on my back, and my clothes the entire time it was in my hair – it was awful! This only transferred to clothes and pillowcases if I had sweat and my hair was sitting my neck. It did slowly change my clear, inner shower curtain purple at the bottom, but it was barely noticeable. My tub would stain when I first would be washing it out and again over the first couple of weeks, but it came off my standard apartment-style tub easily with just a bleach spray and no scrubbing. I’m not a fan of bleach, but hydrogen peroxide just didn’t do the trick. If it gets on your skin, it comes of pretty easily as well in a hotter shower or with some scrubbing, though I wouldn’t recommend applying this without gloves!Don’t wait another second to buy this, it is so perfect!(I’m not being paid to endorse this product at all, I am just legitimately so invested in how well this product works that I want to provide as much information as I can so the next person can fall in love with it too!)

I have been dying my hair platinum blonde for just over 2 years now – I was using a combination of these dyes to counter the brassy tones you inevitably get. I just diluted the dyes with conditioner and it worked AMAZING. Then I got the bug to just try something more bold so I used the dye in its pure glory. I wanted magenta but only had enough of Virgin Pink to do an all over process, and I could not be happier with the result. I knew this stuff will stain, so I used gloves and an applicator bottle. I HIGHLY recommend this to the avid at-home experimenter; I would NOT expect a stylist to be pleased with trying to undo any color mishaps. So go for it, and rock it!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know: semi permanent dye WILL stain. If you didn’t use gloves: NO WORRIES JUST SPRAY CLOROX O. YOUR HANDS OR SINK OR BATH TUB. Or u can just pit clorox bleach into spray bottle. It takes it right off your hands bit wash them right away and use wash cloth. Bleach is a strong base. I used many semi permanent dyes. I currently use Unicorn Hair by Lime Crime and I love love their vivid purple Genie I think that’s how it’s spelled, however, it washes out very quickly so I buy an extra bottle because I dye it again after first wash and then I use purple shampoo by Lime Crime Unicorn Hair as well. U can go to Limecrime.com if anyone wants to give it a try. They got many awesome colors too if purple isn’t your favorite ?…Arctic Fox brand is the one I like better when it comes.to quality. It actually lasts longer. DO NOT PUT CONDITIONER INTO YOUR HAIR PRIOR TO DYING IT WITH SEMI PERMANENT COLOR AFTER PRE LIGHTNING YOUR HAIR. Make sure it’s freshly washed and dry. They say that u can do it on wet hair but think of it as your skin if it’s wet it is not.gonna hold much lotion if u put it onto wet skin. Hair is porous as well so if u want dye to come out good then do it on un conditioned and dry hair. I learned the hard way. I used conditioner and then dyed it and it.barely got any color and then I googled it(OF COURSE) and then I had to get another bottle and it worked out great. So I do love Arctic Fox brand and am going to start back on it because it’s just too much hassle with Unicorn Hair. So semi permanent color will get on stuff, that’s just something u gotta put up.with. I am goth so I wear all black and that is why it never bothers me. Hope u guys will enjoy this brand it is worth it.

using purple now. I liked the punky color violet so i was trying to recreate that but it rubs off on everything so was trying to make that color with purple af and aquamarine. looks more blue base then i wanted but i know now for next time. HEADS UP IT IS CONDITIONING. so if you just bleached your hair, you also need to get protein. you can get aphagee protein or sallys sells ion repair, but make sure one pouch says protein and the other conditioner and DONT use the conditioner. otherwise your hair will break. I didnt realize this stuff was also conditioning. Nice color though. Ill update with longevity and stuff later.Took this stuff outa my hair the next day. Its turned my bleached hair black with purple by mixing aquamarine and purple. Tried to bleach it out and i had bluegreen spots everywhere. Dont use this stuff. Try pubky colors violet if your looking for a gorgeous purple. Its bright and amazing and lasts awhile.

This makes my hair extra amazing. It only lasts a few weeks but it is so worth it. I did not bleach my hair prior I like my hair darker. It smells amazing and love that it’s vegan. Definitely Weare gloves during application and when rinsing out. It stains skin for like a day but porcelain it stains real good so be cautious. LOVE it I have purchased it twice. You can keep the bottle and just apply when needed. Don’t have to go through half a bottle and toss. Just great

I’ve used this brand for about a year now, always stick to the purples and pinks. I adore this product so much. I love how vibrant it is. The vibrant lasts usually 2-3 weeks then starts fading to a beautiful color and I usually redye every month and a half or so. I do leave it in for 5-7 hours and I wash every other day. But I refuse to use cold water lol I freeze if I do.

My daughter has brown hair and we had the tips dyed pink at the salon (they did bleach it). After some time the pink was fading and I tried Artic Fox to liven it up. So easy to use, smells great, her hair is so soft, the color in her previously bleached hair is so bright! I let it sit for 1.5 hrs and did apply heat from a hair dryer. It’s still new so I will update when I have a better idea of how long it lasts. We are happy thus far.

I LOVE this stuff. I’ve tried Manic Panic, Splat, and a few other things, but Arctic Fox is the best. In my hair, Purple AF fades to a fantastic shade of magenta that I freshen up with Virgin Pink. When it’s time to bleach my roots I start over with Purple AF. Want it to last? Here’s what I’ve learned:Don’t wash your hair every day. I still sometimes rinse it and use conditioner, but I save the scrubbing to every other day. Some people can get away with dry shampoo. My hair is too fine for that. When you DO use shampoo, go light on the scalp and use cool/cold water.Color your hair in a way that you can maintain it yourself. Mermaid hair sure is pretty, but it fades really quickly. I mean, if you can shell out for a pro every 4-6 weeks, go to town. But that will add up fast! Finally…have fun! 🙂
