Angelus Leather DyeAngelus dye is the most heavily pigmented dye on the market. Angelus dyes can also be diluted for desired color results. This permanent liquid dye is designed for use on smooth leather articles but also works great for gourds, woodworking, and stone. Guaranteed to penetrate leather and form a lasting color which will not peel, crack, or wash off.
Excellent for use in manufacturing or re-coloring saddles, tack, shoes, belts, purses, wood, gourds, etc.
Before dyeing, remove any dirt or existing finish by using Angelus Leather Preparer and Deglazer. To clean, dilute, or mix leather dye colors, use Angelus Dye Reducer Solvent. After dyeing, use one of the many Angelus finishers.
Please remember that dye is meant to be permanent. Once applied it may be difficult or impossible to remove.
Each bottle comes with a wool dye applicator and the box can be converted into a holder for the bottle while you work.

I used this to dye the vachetta on two Louis Vuitton bags, and it worked perfectly. I definitely recommend the chocolate color. It looks beautiful.

Dyed a rough-out leather hat extremely well. Color was uniform and there was no bleeding, even when worn or wet. Finished with mink oil, did not alter color.

I was impressed with the vibrancy of this dye, as I had not ever seen bright pink ever come out right when coloring leather. This dye delivers and while a little pricy if you have to make something pink I couldn’t recommend another dye more.

I read the reviews about the permanence of this dye and took the proper precautions. I used it on a light colored pair of perforated leather slip on sneakers. The outside is kind of suede and the inside is smooth leather. They are wonderfully comfortable shoes but walking on blacktop parking lots, they picked up every dark smudge and looked old and dirty within a couple of months. I didn’t know if the dye would work well on perforated leather but it was worth a try. I cleaned them the best I could with dish detergent (brand instructions said to hand wash) and let them dry completely. I found instructions for dying shoes online. I taped up the white soles to keep them from being dyed. Make sure you tape the soles very well in layers or the dye will migrate. I followed the instructions for dying shoes. The color absorbed into the leather, making it necessary to dye them twice to make sure the color was even. I used the entire bottle. I am pleased with the results. It doesn’t rub off onto my feet or ankles. The blue denim color is wonderful. I need to do some touch up, as it faded along the cuff and the toe box, but maybe not. It is an interesting effect. I haven’t tried to clean them yet because they don’t need it!

I bought this to use on my cowboy boots that had a bonded leather black stripe on them that peeled leaving the leather stripe a sort of whitish grey. While I couldn’t use the applicator that come with the dye as it was too large and the stripe too small, I was able to use a small square paintbrush to apply with accuracy and precision. It took some time, but the results were worth it.

Bought this to change the color of my service dogs harness cape from yellow to black. This stuff works instantly and almost on the first coat, it is very potent and whatever it gets on it will in fact stain forever.It was really easy to apply although it is like water so take your time in applying it as so it doesn’t drip everywhere. The dauber it comes with is not too huge but it’s not really good for small areas so I took a small paintbrush and used it for tight spaces it worked great. It not only stains leather but a lot of different things, I even used it to change the color of the velcro straps on the cape itself.It pretty much dries within minutes but I would let it cure for a day. The only thing I will warn you about is since it is so potent it has a very strong smell. It’s best to use this in a ventilated place or outside otherwise you will stink up your house and feel pretty light-headed after a while lolOverall I’m super impressed with this dye and will definitely be using it again in the future

I bought this to use on some faux leather tiebacks. It’s so easy to use that I’m afraid I’m going to start using it on a lot more than just these.The only negative thing I can say is that the color comparison chart is virtually impossible to use for browns – they all look alike on there! I ended up getting the chocolate brown and this picture is using 4 coats. (Take that amount lightly though, I did it outside and by the time I swabbed on one coat it would be dry-ish and not exactly how I wanted it so I’d do another. I’m sure this is not officially how you’re supposed to do it.)

Used this to turn a brown motorcycle seat black to match the rest of my bike better. Can’t believe how easy it was to get consistent coverage. Used a terry cloth to apply it and then used the included dobber to get lines between the quilted areas. Applied 3 coats for deep penetration and then covered with some leather clear coat I had lying around. Results were fantastic. Everyone who has seen it has said they would never have guessed it was any other color.Only time will tell how it will hold up but I’m impressed so far.

I dyed a light brown purse with only one coat of this in jet black and it is is unbelievably the darkest black I could of asked for. I can’t wait to order more!!
