    My hallway has several apartments. It’s not easy to make no noise installing or Uninstalling. Good eyesight is very helpful.

    I live in a Victorian house and nearly all of the doors don’t have working locks. I live with my parents and my mom has a tendency to walk into my room without knocking. As I am an adult, this is extremely embarrassing and violating to me. They refuse to install a lock on my door in case of a fire inside my room (I often burn candles in my room) so I wanted a portable lock to use. I don’t know if this would protect against burglars as they have never tried to force open my door. They actually don’t even seem to realize I have it which works to my advantage. Since I don’t know how well it would hold if someone tried to force open the door, I only gave it 3 stars for sturdiness. It seems fairly wobbly but with a new door I think it would be a lot more secure.

    Bought this because of a specific situation that is no longer a problem, but I find myself using it all the time when I’m home alone or in a hotel. Could someone just kick the door frame in and bust a door down? I’m sure that’s possible, but at least if someone tries your door handle, it will wake you up and give you a 5 min. head start to calling for help or defending yourself vs. waking up to someone standing over you. Great price for the peace of mind! It was tricky to figure out how to use at first, but now it’s a cinch.

    I travel a lot for work and usually take a lot of measures for extra security, such as keeping the luggage roller in my room all week and rolling it in front of the door. It was large and cumbersome but with this gadget, it’s great! You can use it on almost any door and works better than the makeshift ‘fork’ one. Frequent traveler or not, this item offers peace of mind which can prove invaluable while away from home. ( I can even use it on my door at my house!)

    Bought this because I bike to work and have top change clothes in my non-locking office. Didn’t want to put on a free show.Is a bit fiddly to line up and put in place, otherwise I’d say this should be distributed in schools and offices top help protect against active shooter situations. Going to mention it to HR anyway and see if they agree.
