I like to know what time it is when I’m cutting the grass so I just strapped this to my mower. The battery will probably outlast the mower! I’m getting another to put by my desk so I’ll know the time for the next 10 years! These are great!

I bought this to use at work because it’s a nice, basic timepiece that displays the time and date very clearly. I can’t stand watches that obstruct and complicate the face with extra dials and markings, have tiny displays, and/or no clear date. The light is a little old school but I rarely use it anyway.

Well, first off I do have a “thing” for Casio watches…G-Shocks as well as their Casio Standards (less costly) line, which this model stems from. How Casio can produce such an amazing watch, and sell it for under 20 bucks, is a mystery to me, but a good one. This AE-1500 is sooo close to the functions and capabilities of many of the G-Shock models costing much more, so it’s almost a no-brainer.In fact, THIS watch has features I’ve never seen on any G-Shock including a very detailed set of alarm functions down to a one time, or monthly by date selection, the likes of which none of my other Casio watches has along with the more typical alarm functions. I dont find a DST feature, however that will become a non issue in 2023 anyway, and until then its quite easy to advance or retard the hour to reflect the last couple of DST events we’ll have to suffer through.Of course the visibility of this watch is self evident….easily the best of any Casio, and the illumination is exceptional and better than nearly every other Casio Illuminator model I’ve seen, save for the DW-291. This is NOT a “Super-Illuminator” mind you, but “just” an Illuminator and the lighting is excellent. Most excellent to borrow a phrase.Yes, it’s a largish timepiece which aids in the visibility, but it wears light and comfortably nonetheless. Casio has put some massive digits in the display and used much of the display without wasted space on lesser messages. Also, and this is a biggie IMO the “pushers” as the buttons are technically called, are large and smooth to use, quite unlike the tiny and hard to use pushers on many other Casio models. So…in a nutshell this is about 85% what a G-Shock is at about 20% (or less) the cost of a G-Shock.Value, value, value. No, it’s not solar powered but the batteries for these types of watches run about $1.25 at most dollar stores, and at ten years out it’s really a non-worry anyway.Helluva timepiece for what is now lunch money. How DO they do it?? I dunno, but I’m glad they do.

It’s easy to read. Looks great. And so many people have complimented my watch. And I don’t care, I tell em all Amazon and cheap! I watched lots of reviews before buying this watch. And it is a very popular Casio. 10 out of 10 highly suggest you just buy it. or do what I’m going to do and get it in a couple colors never hurts to have one that matches every outfit!

I love everything about this watch. I bought two, for me and my brother. The time, the date and the alarms are easy to read and set. The dual diode light is bright in the dark to read the time. This watch looks fantastic and every guy should have one. I have many watches including Rolex but this Casio is my new forever watch. 100 meter water resistant and tough as nails at a great price. Get it,you will love it. Thank you Casio (and Amazon).

I have a diver’s watch for when I require waterproof so I won’t ever test the water Resistance…and have a phone for timers…I just needed a casio for rough stuff where I can read the time easily and if it breaks…chuck it and replace it with another. Hard to beat this watch for what I need it for.

  7. Amazon Customer

I sold a company last year and I wanted to buy the “I made it” watch. I was chatting with guy who was a pretty famous hedge fund guy and he was wearing this watch. I asked why he wore this watch and he said “I can afford any watch in the world. If I left this in a hotel room I can hop on Amazon and have another one in a day. This also keeps time better than a 50k Patek Phillipe.” In solidarity I bought one, not realizing that it would become the best watch I’ve ever owned, merely for the fact that I’m not worried about having to replace it. Awesome watch and the best value possible.

Very large face and screen, very legible and the light is also nice. Sometimes you just need a watch you can beat up outside and not worry, and for that its perfect. I got the tan version, and luckily it is darker in real life, looks much better than that hyper white background image that makes the tan look oddly bright.

I love my G Shock Casio but my old ass eyes are having more of a hard time reading those teensy weensy numbers on the display. So, I downgraded to a large display Casio that is VERY easy to read. For about 20 bucks, it’s a keeper. I’m sure it’s nowhere near the durability of my G Shock that I’ve had for years but I’m not that abusive to my watches anyway. The 10 year battery claim is a bonus … we’ll see if the battery lasts more than 3 years. Overall, I like it and it does for me what I need it to do at an affordable price.

I’ve had CASIO products for years. Desktop calculators & especially their timepieces(the wrist-style variety). My last was a G-SHOCK that had a novel gold accented display. That sold me, but the buttons were recessed too much, making settings awkward trying to get a solid button push. Since I’ve entered my 7th decade, the display has gotten difficult to read. VOILA . . CASIO knows what consumers’ need: A larger read-out; king-sized fonts for time-of-day; easier accessed buttons for quick adjustments, all with their dependable spot-on accuracy. I’ve had it for a week now, and the time has slowed 2 seconds from my bedside atomic clock’s settings.
