Installed a touchscreen stereo unit in my car along with this. I had to drill a hole in the hatch to run the wires into, and the ends are so long that they cover the stickers on my car tag,we are impressed with it’s multiple features at such an affordable price. It works with our newly installed Jensen VX 7012 and shows a broad spectrum behind the car and has 5 colored grids to show how close the car is to another object. We have had the car for 2 years and the camera for two months; I don’t know how we ever lived without it! The rear camera offers full confidence that the neighbor’s children or the family dog is not behind me as I back up. Thank you for such a fine product at a great price.
The camera and wiring are very straightforward if you know what you are doing. After reading all of the 1-2 star reviews I see that 99% of them are just people who should pay someone else to do ANY electronics work. The wires are perfectly fine size, yes, you can use crimping tools, if using the right size. The red wire that runs with the signal cable DOES NOT provide the power to the camera. It is a trigger wire to let your head unit know to switch views. The power to the camera comes from the red and black wires that are separate. Those should be connected to your reverse light and ground. If it doesn’t work, try factory reset on your head unit there are a ton of settings that can cause trouble. But it is quite easy for a technically minded person.

I love the camera, wiring wasn’t difficult just a matter of picturing how you’re going to route it. My original camera delivered was blurry out of the package so they sent me a new one immediately after I had reached out to them ! Excellent product and customer service, would definitely order from them again.
Overall after unboxing I realized it was great build quality and everything holds together very well. If you watch a couple videos on YouTube on how to wiretap into a wire that is always powered than its simple, the only hard part is taking the trim up from you’re car to run the cable under but if you spend enough time, and want it to look nice than its possible. Mounting it to the license plate is fairly simple except you need to make sure that the metal part that holds the camera, goes BEHIND the license plate. If its not behind the plate it will cover up you’re tag and you’ll probably get pulled over. Overall great purchase, I’m probably going to buy another one to install on my moms ls430. only thing is the nigh vision isn’t the best but you can’t expect too much when you’re paying this much.

Price is good . Super easy to install . Had it for about a month now and I would definitely suggest this product if your looking for a reverse camera at a reasonable price

Install was simple, hardest part was pulling wire from the front of my truck to the rear but works like advertised. Only time I can see with it is when it rains hard and water covers the camera lens, but that’s to be expected without a little roof over the camera lens. Helps greatly on lining up trailers and it is adjustable up and down. Had it on for almost 2 months and i love lining up to my trailer now

Update December 2020:I was experiencing an intermittent loss of camera image. I contacted the seller and they promptly shipped me a replacement kit free of charge, under warranty. The seller was quite courteous and kept in touch with me throughout the replacement shipment process. I was impressed with their quick response to my warranty claim. Would not hesitate to buy from this seller again.Original Post:Device seems rugged, as does the wiring and connectors. The device terminates to two connectors, and you are supplied with two long wire bundles, one bundle for each of the two connectors. One connector and its wire bundle terminates with a red/positive wire, and a black/ground wire. The positive wire is to be spliced into the vehicle’s reverse/backup light positive/hot wire. The black/ground wire can be attached to the vehicle chassis, or to the reverse/backup light’s ground wire. This is done so that the camera and its LED lights are turned on, only when the vehicle is in reverse. The length of this wire bundle was sufficient to span the distance from the device, to the driver side backup light. I installed the device on a minivan, so this wire needed to run up the length of the rear hatch to the headliner and down to the backup light’s quarter panel. The other connector is an RCA-plug style yellow female connector. There is also a length of red wire on both ends of the wire cable, one end being a short length of red wire, and the other end was longer. The longer length is intended to be spliced into the vehicle’s reverse/backup light. The other end is attached to your radio’s vehicle-reverse-sensing wire. This is how your radio knows the vehicle is in reverse, and will switch its display to show the camera video.Unfortunately the length of the longer red wire was not long enough to span the distance to the backup light. I simply extended the length by joining another wire to the original. This setup means that you attach a red wire from each of the two bundles to the backup light’s 12 volt positive wire. There are YouTube videos out there that explain how to determine which of the two vehicle harness wires going to the reverse light is the hot wire. I used a multimeter. I attached the red probe to one terminal, the black probe to the other. With the vehicle in reverse, the multimeter reads the 12 volt current. If it displays negative 12 volts, then swap the red and black probes so that you read positive 12 volts. The red probe from your multimeter will now be attached to the positive terminal. This is the terminal you want to splice your two red wires into. For me, this was a day-long effort, to fish the wires from the camera bracket, through the tailgate, header, quarter panel, along the driver side of the interior compartment and to the radio area. One quibble with the camera bracket. By attaching the device to the license plate screws as intended, the black horizontal bracket runs across the top of my license plate, between the screws. The bracket obscure’s most of the my state’s name, which is printed on the top of my license plate. You can make out the name if you’re standing behind the vehicle anyway, and the license plate letters of course are not affected. But I don’t know if my state’s car inspection routine will have a concern that it’s harder to read the state name. If I fail inspection, I’ll have to cobble together something that raises the bracket to be above the license plate.

I have this installed in my Excursion. It took some work getting it in simply because the truck is so long. Once installed is has worked great. The camera view is a little out of focus but it provides me with the details I need to back up safely plus the guide is very accurate.

I purchased this to use with my pioneer radio and it works great. Easy to install if you have any mechanical background at all. The picture quality is good
